Sep. 26th, 2004 11:48 pmOkay, so we went to the summer house today. My sister didn't go, because she's a lazy ass.
We had a really nice drive up there (the house is somewhat north of Kalundborg, so it takes about 1½ hours). We talked about nothing and anything. The view from the road we drove on was really beautiful. It was really Danish, with fields, hills, little farms, the sea, curches and trees in fall colours. Wonderful! We arrived and we walked around the piece of land. We found out that we have apples, pears, blackberries and grapes. But we agreed that we need more fruit (like cherries) and more berries (like raspberries). But all in all it's a really nice, little house. It's really near the ocean (like, 150 metres), so we can hear the waves from our garden. It has a lot of bushes and trees, so there are little hideouts all around the garden. I tried several of them, while reading my book, and they were all great! My uncle came with some furniture for the house and while they were busy moving it about I went to the beach to walk around, skip stones and read. The beach is really beautiful. It's not that big, but just right. On a notice board it said that the water gets over 20 degrees in August, so next year should be great! I sat at the beach for an our, in the lee from the wind. I have completely fallen in love with my book, which I mentioned in an earlier post. It's "A short history of nearly everything", by Bill Bryson. It's basically just 500 pages of physics, but it's told in a way that everyone can understand it. It's everything fomr the Big Bang to Darwin's Theory. I've read about the Big Band and the Universe and I've now reached Newton's laws. I love this book and I want to marry it.
When I got back to the house my uncle left and my mom asked if we should drive around a bit. So we did. Luckily this part of Zealand is practically with no people at this time of year, so we had the roads to ourselves. I quickly got used to our car (a '86 Toyota Starlett in glittery blue) so the drive was really great! It was actually wonderful! I think I can really love this car if I get the chance to drive it regularly. I'm not that nervous with the test right now as I'd normally be. But I guess that'll come...
The rest of the day went pretty quickly. Back and clear the place up and then home, where my sister and her friends had made dinner. And then Angels in America was on, probably the best series ever. I cried at the end. When
vampirespider buys it, I'm so gonna borrow it!
Tomorrow I have a 1½ hour driving lesson, in which I'll learn about the more technical things *makes mental not to bring pen and paper*. That'll be interesting! "So, how does the gear work?", "Uhm, something about some gear wheels?" Then I have work, and at 3 pm Thea'll come by and at 4:30 we'll go to our first Swedish lesson! Weee!!! So, much posting will probably happen tomorrow!
Now, book and bed!
