This New Years eve has become so complicated, that now all I want to do is escape to my parents summer house, which is more or less in the middle of nothing, and just read a book and listen to the radio. I really don't feel like partying all night long right now.

*sigh*

I just found out that President George Bush is donating 25 million $ to Asia and the Danish Prime Minister is donating over 50 million $. There is something seriously screwed up about that. That means that every American has donated 0,09 $ and every Dane has donated 10,1 $. That is over 100 times as the American amount. America is the richest country in the world. The world is fucked up.

Yeah, I know. I just thought that in a situation like this, they'd be a bit more sensible. But no.

Exactly. I thought that they'd know how much they appreciated help when they were being attacked, that they'd do something remotely like it to others when it happened. But noooo...!

Would you mind if I quote you in my journal? The last bit, of course. In addition, all the money from 'Talegaver til Børn' also went to Asia. Little more than a million kroner. And unicef already collected 1,5 millions all by themselves.

America is the richest country in the world, but, like many large countries, it prefers to use its tax dollars in ways that are beneficial to itself, rather than to benefit other people.

Saying this, I have no idea how much the UK is donating, although I heard a possible figure of £20 million. Which, I guess would be around $30 million.

Yeah, but still! Being the richest country in the world they have a certain responsibility, which they have to live up to. The amount is also less than what they spend every day in Iraq.

True, and I lied. England is apparently now up to £50 million.
